Milton, NH – A car crash in Milton has left one teen dead and four others injured. According to Milton Police they were called to a car accident on Hare Road at 10:30 yesterday morning. When Police and fire crews arrived they found a severely damaged Toyota Camry with 3 occupants inside and 2 occupants who had been ejected from the vehicle.
One 16-year-old child who was ejected from the vehicle died at the scene. The other four occupants were taken to Frisbee Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
The crash is currently under investigation by the Milton Police Department with the assistance of the Strafford County TAR team.
Authorities ask that anyone with information on the crash or who may have witnessed the Toyota Camry driving on Hare Road around the time of the accident call the Milton Police Department at 603-652-4500 and asked to speak with Officer Nicholas Nirgianakis.

North Conway, NH -The 16th annual Mount Washington Radio Food Drive was a huge success. The live radio broadcast took place at the First church of Christ Congregational for 12 hours on 93.5 WMWV, Magic 104.5, and Easy 95.3 as they collect frozen turkeys and non-perishable food items to be distributed across the various Mount Washington Valley Food Pantries.

Things started on a great note with Stan Szetela dropping off the first big batch of birds handing in 77 turkeys. Soon after his long time turkey donation rival Buzz Coleman brought in 70 turkeys. However Infinger Insurance took the cake, or Thanksgiving pie, when it came to large Turkey drop offs delivering a whopping 100 Turkeys! In total an impressive 513 frozen turkeys were collected just 32 shy of last year’s record of 545 birds. The stations also collected $4,100 in monetary donations and collected hundreds of of non-perishable food items.
The turkeys and non-perishables were quickly organized and shipped out, thanks to a multitude of volunteers. They are now at the many food pantries across the valley ready to be enjoyed next week.

Now in it’s 16th year, the Mount Washington Radio/Vaughan Community Services Annual Food Drive showcases what living in the Mount Washington Valley is all about – community goodwill and service. Held at the First Church of Christ in North Conway (across from Assets Jean Co.), this one-day, 12-hour event helps collect food for area food pantries benefiting those in need during the holiday season, as well as throughout the year. Many different pantries in the Greater Mount Washington Valley will see donations from the drive helping those less fortunate in their communities.
How can you get involved? It’s easy! Just swing by the First Church of Christ (2503 White Mountain Highway) with a non-perishable item anytime from 6am-6pm…you don’t even need to get out of your car! Canned foods, spaghetti sauces, pasta, mac n’ cheese, peanut butter, muffin and cake mixes, crackers…these are just a few ideas and all will be accepted to go to a good cause. Household items are always welcomed too including toilet paper, paper towels and toothpaste. AND DON’T FORGET ABOUT THEFROZEN TURKEYS!

Chocorua, NH – A fire destroyed a Barn at the Old Brass Heart Inn in Chocorua last night. At around 10 o’clock Fire officials responded to what is now the Preserve at Chocurua on Philbrick Neighborhood Road for a fire that rapidly rose to three alarms. According to reports at least 8 town fire crews responded including Tamworth, Conway Village, Freedom, Center Ossipee, and Moultonboro.

Authorities said that the barn was a total loss however they were able to protect the Inn from any fire damage. The occupants of the Inn are safe and unharmed according to reports.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, but officials said they believe the blaze started at the rear of the building. The barn was used as an event venue so no animals were put in harms way.
Preserve at Chocorua is a renowned event venue throughout the region and was formally known as the Old Brass Heart Inn and the Stafford’s in the Field before that.

Milton, NH – A road in Milton was closed and residents ordered to shelter in place Sunday. Milton Police said that in the early afternoon Sunday they received a report that a hunter near Mason Road was shot at.
According to a post on the Milton Police Facebook page the hunter reported 5 shots being fired in his direction, and when he yelled another bullet was fired striking a tree in close proximity to the hunter.
Due to the unknown location of the shooter the assistance of the Strafford County Regional Tactical Operations Unit was called to extract the hunter out of the woods and attempt to locate and apprehend the shooter.
Milton Police Chief Richard Krauss said the hunter was not hurt. Residents of Mason road were told to stay inside with their doors locked, but that order was lifted by Sunday night.
Police searched a residence at 100 Mason road for the suspect, but were unable to locate the shooter.
In the post police said that this is an isolated incident and there is no ongoing risk to the residents of Milton.

16th Annual Mt. Washington Radio Food Drive Huge Success
