TOWANDA, PENNSYLVANIA – The Chocorua native accused of having a sexual relationship with a student in Pennsylvania is now faces additional charges in a higher court.
The Conway Daily Sun reports that 25-year-old Whitney Roberts, was just being charged with two counts of institutional sexual assault and a misdemeanor of corruption of a minor but now is being charged with nine felony counts of sexual contact with a student, one felony count of corruption of minors and one misdemeanor count of corruption of minors.
The case was moved from a magisterial district court in Bradford County, Pennsylvania to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas.
In March it was reported that Roberts allegedly had sex with a teenage boy in Franklin Township, Pennsylvania after she made out with a 17-year-old boy at a party the Friday before Thanksgiving.
The victim is now claiming that he and Roberts engaged in other sexual activities in addition to the original incident.
According to the Daily Review, Roberts is free on $10,000 unsecured bail.

At approximately 10:15 pm, immediately following the fireworks, all passengers will then bored the train in North Conway and return to the freight house in Conway Village. Seats are available by reservation, and Tickets will be sold in advance of the event online and at the ticket office in North Conway.
Cranmore’s base area will be transformed into the All-American backyard barbeque with live music from Shark Martin, brews on tap, lawn games, fresh from the grill burgers & hot dogs, and friendly competition.
Various family-style competitions are ongoing throughout the day with fun prizes for the winners.

JACKSON, NH – New Hampshire transportation officials have reopened the iconic Jackson covered bridge after a weekend accident.
Officials with the department of transportation said a vehicle crashed into a support and first truss of the Honeymoon Covered Bridge on Saturday. T
he bridge, which is at the intersection of routes 16 and 16A, was closed over the weekend. DOT officials reopened the bridge at around 1pm yesterday, saying that they made temporary repairs which has allowed the bridge to be safely reopened to traffic for the usual passenger vehicles only.
Bartlett Police said that the driver of the vehicle was an 18-year-old woman from Conway. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, had failed to negotiate the village exit of the bridge striking the support beam and rolling the vehicle onto it’s drive side coming to rest inside the bridge.
The driver luckily only suffered minor cuts and bruises.
Authorities said that they don’t believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash but speed and driver distraction were.
Police said that no charges have been filed against the teen yet but they could be depending on evidence.

WOLFEBORO, NH – A Rochester woman was arrested for scamming a scammer in Wolfeboro. Wolfeboro Police said that in March a Wolfeboro resident had reported having their identity stolen and the hacker had purchased a laptop using the victims business account. The scam had been perpetrated by someone in another country, who then turned to a shipping scam to get the computer shipped to them.
51-year-old Jennifer Wozmak, who was not affiliated with the scammer, was contacted via the internet for a “job opportunity” in which she was paid to pick up the package at UPS and then reship it to another location.
Wozmak allegedly picked up the package at the UPS in Laconia, but instead of shipping the computer Wozmak allegedly filled a shipping box with magazines and kept the computer.
Police said that Wozmak admitted to taking the computer and selling it.
She was charged with Theft by Unauthorized Taking and was released on $1000 personal recognizance.

FRYEBURG, ME – A group of juveniles are lucky to be alive after a joy ride in Fryeburg early Friday morning.

According to Fryeburg police they alongside fire and rescue responded to an accident on Haley Town Road where a 1999 Cadillac Escalade crashed into a tree just after 3:30 Friday morning.

Police said that an unlicensed 15-year-old girl took the vehicle without permission from a home on Meadow Lane and picked up 7 of her friends before crashing it into a tree. Police said that all of the occupants initially fled the scene on foot into the woods before being located by Fryeburg Police Officers.

Two of the juveniles were taken to Maine Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Three other passengers were treated on scene and then released.
